Exercise Classes

The circuit based exercise classes are held at
Whitby Sports and Social club, Ellesmere Port on Monday and Wednesday mornings @ 10.15 -11.15.
Also available on Monday mornings at the same venue is a low impact class @ 11.30 - 12.30 pm. Upton Village Hall, Chester on Tuesday mornings @ 10 - 11 and Neston Town Hall on Thursday mornings @ 10 - 11.

The classes begin with everyone warming up as a group and includes mobility, pulse raising and preparatory stretching. The low impact class warm up sitting down.

The circuit offers a variety of exercises using a wide range of equipment. This interval training method intersperses aerobic activity with muscle strength and endurance work. The advantage of the interval approach is that participants can work and progress at their own rate and adaptations of exercises can accommodate individual needs and abilities. The low impact class has the option to sit or stand during the circuit.

The exercise stations are set up around the perimeter of the room and 2 or 3 people can exercise at the same station. This provides an opportunity for social interaction. After 45 seconds of exercising at a station everybody walks round the room until they reach the station after the one they have just been working at. This also gives people the opportunity to chat.

The low impact circuit stations are set up as two parallel lines so the participants move to the next station without walking round the room. This allows people to talk to each other whilst exercising.

Once the circuit has been completed everyone cools down as a group.

The low impact class are seated during the cool down. This is followed by relaxation.

The classes are a great opportunity to meet new people and have a lot of fun. The first session is free and then £3 each time you attend.

So come along and join in the fun.

The classes are open to all of our members.
